Statement of Faith
We believe the Bible is given by divine inspiration and reveals the will of God concerning all things necessary to our salvation. (2 Timothy 3:16-17)
We believe in one eternally existent, infinite God, Sovereign Creator and Sustainer of the universe. God, who is holy, love and light, exists in three persons revealed as Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit. (Revelation 4:11; 1 Peter 1:15; Genesis 1:1; Leviticus 19:2; Deuteronomy 6:4-5; Isaiah 5:16; 6:1-7; 40:18-31; Matthew 3:16-17; 28:19-20; John 14:6-27; 1 Corinthians 8:6; 2 Corinthians 13:14; Galatians 4:4-6; 1 John 1:5; 4:8)
We believe in Jesus Christ, that He was eternally one with the Father, and that He became incarnate by the Holy Spirit and was born of the virgin Mary. We believe that Jesus Christ died for our sins, and that He arose from the dead, ascended into heaven and is there making intercession for us. (Isaiah 7:14; Luke 1:35; John 8:45; Hebrews 7:26; John 1:1)
We believe that man was created in the image and likeness of God, but that in Adam's sin, inherited a fallen nature and became alienated from God. (Genesis 1:27; Luke 1:35; John 8:45; Hebrews 7:26; John 1:1)
We believe that God offers redemption and restoration to all who confess and repent of their sins seeking his mercy and forgiveness through Jesus Christ. (Romans 5:15-19; Romans 10:9-10; John 3:16)
We believe that the atonement through Jesus Christ is for the whole human race; and that whoever repents and believes in the Lord Jesus Christ is justified and regenerated and saved from the dominion of sin, leading to sanctification -- the work of God which transforms believers into the likeness of Christ. (Romans 6:1-22)
We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life. (John 16:8; Romans 8:9; 1 Corinthians 3:16; 6:19; 12:13; Ephesians 1:13; 1 John 2:27)
We believe in the resurrection. That the Lord Jesus Christ will come again and if we are abiding in Him, we shall be caught up with the risen saints to meet the Lord in the air, so that we shall ever be with the Lord. (John 14:1-6; Phillipians 3:20; Revelation 21:1-4; Matthew 25:46; Revelation 22:11)
We believe that God wonderfully creates each person as male and female. These two distinct, complementary genders together reflect the image and nature of God. (Genesis 1:26-27)
We believe that God defines marriage as the uniting of one man and one woman. (Genesis 2:18-25; 1 Corinthians 6:18; 7:2-5; Hebrews 13:4)
We believe that the chief end of man is to glorify God and enjoy him forever. (1 Corinthians 10:31; John 17:22-24; 2 Thessalonians 1:12; 1 Peter 4:11)
"In essentials unity,
In non-essentials liberty,
In all things love."
- St. Augustine
